Happy New Year

Happy New Year, everyone!

As the new year begins, I'm working on my resolutions. Less work, more writing (because that's not really work), and more cats! Just kidding. I really am working on my goals for the new year, but I haven't set them in stone yet. One thing I will be doing more of is going to the gym. I've gotta stay healthy so I can write for you guys! I will be posting soon where I'll be going in 2014. Go to my website marlamonroe.com or visit me on Facebook! As always, I love to hear from my readers, so don't be shy!

The Wranglers' New Chef

Don't forget that my newest spicy dish is going on sale Friday, January 3rd! I'm excited to hear your comments and opinions on it!

Description:
Soon to be homeless, Billy Jean swallows her fear of horses to accept a position as chef at a guest ranch in Montana. Laramie and Laredo don’t know what hit them when they get a taste of her—cooking. What’s an amazing chef like her doing out in the wilds of Montana?
While Laredo believes they should be concentrating on getting the ranch up and running instead of flirting, his brother is convinced they can do both. It doesn’t take long for Laredo to climb on board with his brother to woo Billy Jean into their arms. But there’s something going on with their sensuous chef. She’s got a secret and they’re determined to coax it out of her.
A little PTSD and a world of misunderstanding lands the brothers in a pot of boiling water where Billy Jean is concerned. It might take two to tango, but three can work things out if they will just take the time to listen.

Writing What You Know: Menage a’Trois

Welcome Siobhan Muir to my blog!

There’s an old adage that says: write what you know.

Adages become something repeated in the vernacular because there is truth in them. What better subjects to write on than things that you know? But knowing things only takes you so far. If we wrote what we knew all the time, there’d be no fantasy or science fiction because who knows what will show up in the future. Or what dragons lie beyond the mountains of Mordor? LOL

For a long time I honed my storytelling skills and writing on science fiction and fantasy, preferring exotic and magical beings to humans and human issues. They just weren’t interesting to me. But at the heart of all my sci-fi stories was human interaction. How would this character react if I put them in that situation? How would you react if thrown into an alien world where dragons were allies rather than something to slay? I’d be saying, “Where can I get one?” :D

Adding romance into the mix suddenly made me interested in what humans would be doing. Particularly if they were doing it with vampires, werewolves, dragons, goblins, and demons. :D Old habits die hard. But again, it was human interaction and human issues at the core. I’ve written several M/F romances and I loved getting my characters into trouble in weird situations just to see what they’d do.

But I’d never written a ménage.

I don’t have the benefit of personal experience of a ménage to write from that place of knowledge. But I read a lot and learning doesn’t just come from experience. Why else do we have books and libraries? We learn from others’ experiences. I’ve read a lot of ménage romance and some of it I’ve believed and some I haven’t. But one thing is very clear when writing multiple partner romance: you have to get the human interaction right.

You have to know people. How they’d react, what they fear, what they desire, and what they’d do. Times three. Or four. Or more. In the end, romance with multiple partners is just like romance with only two partners, except you have that many more conflicts, emotional responses, and physical responses. Writing a convincing ménage means knowing people and knowing how they’d react in whatever is going on.

So, write what you know, and I know people.

Taking that knowledge and putting it into the ménage romance of The Navy’s Ghost was both intriguing and frustrating for me. I had to figure out three people and understand how they’d react. But it was exciting and fun, and so emotionally satisfying. Especially when one of them wants the ménage, but has been told it’s wrong and fights it with every fiber of his being.

THE NAVY’S GHOST

A SEAL is strongest with her Team…
Ensign Christiana "Ghost" Brickman is the only female SEAL to survive BUD/S training, a real Navy Jane. But when an ambush ends her career as an active SEAL, she’s free to pursue other interests. Like her two best friends Lt. Jim "Retro" Waters and Chief Warrant Officer Todd "Magic" Hunter. She's wanted them for over a year, but never dared to approach them while in the squad.

Retro has fought his dark desires since high school, certain the need to share a woman unnatural. Magic had never considered sharing before Ghost mentions it, but it solves his dilemma of choosing between his best friend and his woman. But Retro balks at Ghost’s offer to share and retreats from both when she marries Magic.
Everyone feels Retro’s loss, but he ignores the ache of their broken connection in favor of living ‘normal.’ When Ghost and the other wives of Beta Squad are kidnapped, Retro must reevaluate how much both Ghost and Magic mean to him. And he must decide how far he's willing to go to save the woman he loves, before she becomes the Navy's ghost.

My tagline is Kick-ass Adventure with Hot Sex and The Navy’s Ghost lives up to the line. It was a wild ride and a new experience for me. I enjoyed writing it and discovering that special place where three people could find their Happily-Ever-After. I hope you’ll grab a copy and see how Retro, Ghost, and Magic make the magic work for them.

Siobhan Muir lives in Las Vegas, Nevada, with her husband, two daughters, and a vegetarian cat she swears is a shape-shifter, though he's never shifted when she can see him. When not writing, she can be found looking down a microscope at fossil fox teeth, pursuing her other love, paleontology. An avid reader of science fiction/fantasy, her husband gave her a paranormal romance for Christmas one year, and she was hooked for good.

Time of Year to Plan

Hi everyone. I'm settling down to write and realized that I needed to start planning for 2014. What do I want to write next year, where do I want to go to meet with readers and what do I want to accomplish during the year? There are a lot of different choices and options out there and trying to narrow them down to just a few is a daunting task.

How do you all plan for the new year? Do you plan at all? Do you set goals or just go with the flow? I don't make New Years Resolutions because I never meet them, but planning my writing career is a must.

Do any of you have requests? I'm working on the fourth book in The Protector's series. It's slow going with my contracts pulling on me. I'm also working on a sequel to Nina's Neighbor with Freak's story.

I have a bear shifter storyline I have in my head along with a paranormal world storyline jumping up and down to be let out, but the bottom line is that I want to write what you want to read. Yes, the characters will drive me crazy till I write them, but I get them out some as I go along so that I can write what is due at the time.

Here are a few of my favorite books over the years that I've written.

Long Lonely Nights was a favorite of mine also. I just forgot where I put that cover. :-)

Books I've read that I loved, I have to say the New Species series by Laurann Dohner are among my most favorite along with The Breed series by Lora Leigh.

Don't forget that A Taste of Cyn is out  http://www.bookstrand.com/a-taste-of-cyn and the next book out will be The Wrangler's New Chef, a new series on Montana. It will be out Friday January 3rd. I hope to hear from all of you out there.

If I miss saying it, have a very Merry and Safe Christmas!

The Wrangler's of Bear Mountain A Sneek Peek

I promised to tell you a little about the new series. I based it on my trip to Montana back in September. Had a wonderful time. Pork chop is still on my mind. ;-)  Anyway, I don't have a title for the first book yet, but I will share the names of the first threesome.

Laredo and Laramie Marshall are twins who come home when their father has a massive stroke to try an save the family ranch. They've been overseas in the service for over ten years. Its' time for them to come home.

Billy Jean Simmons is from Kentucky and after finishing culinary school, is looking for a fulltime position as a chef. Unfortunately, some trouble she had in the past black listed her with all of the nice restaurants and hotels. She can flip burgers at a burger joint or work in a greasy spoon somewhere at a truck stop. Her dream of running her own kitchen didn't include slinging hash browns or dropping fries.

When she answers an add for a cook on a dude ranch all the way in Montana, Billy Jean expects to get the thanks but no thanks brush off there as well. To her surprise, they offer her the job. How is she going to be able to work there with the tiny little problem she has? Surely it won't interfere with her cooking. After all, a chef didn't cook in a barn full of horses, did she?

Here are a few pics to stir your interests. I know my um, interests were stirred. :-)

I'm all about the tall, dark, and handsome. Maybe another picture is in order...
 Or two.

Okay, back to writing. Have a good night you guys!

Some New Book Info and A Call Out For Help

Okay, just to give you guys a peek at the first book in the new series based in Montana, the heroine has PTSD but it is from an event in her life that happened when she was a teenager. The heroes have to figure out how to overcome this boulder in their path to make her theirs. It's a big one, too.

So....I need some help now. I need votes on what to call my new series as I'm getting ready to finish it and send it to Siren.  Here are the options, please help me out guys!

1.  Montana Wranglers
2.  The Montana Wranglers of Bear Mountain
3.  The Wranglers of Bear Mountain

Okay, give me some help guys! As incentive, here are a few pics of hot cowboys. :-)

So put your thinking caps on and give me some help. Comment below. I'm stuck and on a deadline!

These are three of the Knights there
These are some of the authors dressed as one of the characters in their books. There were some awesome costumes there. I went as a biker lady!
 More on the authors...
More of the amazing Knights!
Here the poster they had made for one of my books. It looked wonderful!
One of these three aren't like the other. LOL I think it is a transmitter for the airport that is close by and they disguised it to look like the other palm trees. What do you guys think?

This is from Hunk Mansion. I'm not telling who that was between his legs, but it wasn't me. We had a ball!
This guy was freaking amazing!

If you are all good naughty readers, I will post more later. Right now, I'm choosing a winner for my release from Friday for Everything's Better with Three.  And the winner is......Marie Brown. Congratulations, Marie! I'll have another one when my next book is released on Friday, November 1st!

Hot Mojave Knights in Las Vegas

Hey everyone!
I'm going to be in Las Vegas at the Sunset Station Casino for an amazing reader's event, Hot Mojave Knights! There will be cover models, authors, and lots of fun and swag. If you're in the area, be sure to stop by and see me. I would love the chance to meet all of you who read my books. You guys ROCK my world!!

There's so much going on these days that I can't seem to keep it all straight. I'm working on so many projects and have so many more I want to work on. Right now I'm busy writing the first book in the Montana Wranglers series. I also am working on the fourth book in The Protector's series, Celestial Nights.

And, the second book in my wolf shifters series.

And, I'm working on a couple of workshops I will be giving in December in Tennessee. More on that later though.

Right now, if you're near, be sure and make plans to come see me in Las Vegas on Saturday for the book signing at 4pm at the Sunset Station Casino.

And don't forget that Everything's Better with Three is up for pre-sale now and will be released on October 18th!

Everything
Kayley Clayton has given up on Billy Wainwright and Craig Hayman ever noticing her. Nothing has budged them into taking her seriously.  Frustrated, she decides to cut loose and forget about them, but trouble lands her square in their laps.

Billy and Craig didn’t think Kayley could handle two men like them. When she lands them all in jail, they start to question their decision to steer clear of her. Then she’s attacked and all bets are off. Kayley is theirs to protect.

Convincing Kayley that they are serious and are still planning to be around after the danger has past isn’t as easy as they thought it would be. She’s convinced the two men will get tired of bailing her out of trouble and leave her brokenhearted.

Can she learn to trust their pledge of love and loyalty? Will they overcome their anxiety that she can’t handle two rowdy mechanics and show her that everything’s better with three?
You can see more here and pre-order as well.  http://www.bookstrand.com/everythings-better-with-three

Talk to you all again soon!

One More Day!

Hey all my wonderful friends! One more day till Trusting Her Two Doms is out at Bookstrand. This is book three of my Knights in Black Leather series. It is a BDSM based series that explores the different avenues of the lifestyle from different views. Be sure to check it out!    http://www.bookstrand.com/node/864486

Maximillian “Max” Dominguez and Sawyer Jernigan stop for coffee and find their perfect woman. The trouble is, they’re Doms who run the local BDSM club, and Taylor Rizzoli’s never tasted the forbidden pleasure of submission.

Max is willing to curb his dark desires for the chance to have her, but Sawyer believes she’s more than up for the challenges they’d have in store for her. They find out someone wants her gone and isn’t worried about how they remove her from the picture.

They are determined to uncover the plot to get rid of her and enlist their new friends to help. Can Taylor accept two men who arouse in her things she’d never have contemplated before meeting them, or will she shy away from what they have to offer? What happens when the threat is gone and it’s just the three of them and a dungeon full of toys?

On another note, I'll have a big announcement at the end of this month. Be sure and check back often for more information. I can't wait to share!

Scrumptious Cover Reveal!

How can you top this?

I'm speechless. This is one of the best covers I've ever had. I love it. It's not too modern looking and is so sexy, sensual even. I'm overjoyed with this!  On top of that, the men look much like I had imagined them.

This is book three of Knights in Black Leather, my BDSM series. It comes out October 4th I believe it is. In this book you learn what happens to The Golden Shackle. I'm thinking of adding a map on my webpage of the town to give it a little more realism. What do you all think? Maybe some character sketches for you to see?

So much to do and so little time to do it. I have all these books sitting on my computer waiting to be finished. I need more hours in my day devoted to writing.

Give a shout out on how you like the cover. Do you have any other favorite covers from my books? I have three favorites in addition to this new one. Nessa's Two Shifters, Long, Lonely Night, and Nina's Neighbor. Oh but I love Ginger's Two Goals, too. Sigh. Hard to limit it to just a few.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Back From Montana Minus a Cowboy

Coming home was one of the hardest things I've had to do in a long time. I did not want to leave that little piece of heaven I had found. The views were breathtaking, the food amazing, and the people truly wonderful. If you ever have the opportunity to visit Lone Mountain in Montana outside of Big Sky, you should take it. You will be well taken care of.

I made lots of new friends there. Here is Pork Chop, my trusty horse.

Here are Craig and James, two of the yummy, um I mean knowledgeable wranglers as they are called there.

Below is Tiny telling us more about horses. I don't know why they called him Tiny cause he sure wasn't Tiny that I could tell.
Another shot of my Pork Chop
James relaxing at the bar with us as we listened to some great live music.

While there, I created an entire series that I will be announcing as soon as I firm it up. It will feature a place not unlike Lone Mountain but none of the people or events will be similar at all. After all. Everyone knows I write mostly ménage. :-) There were no ménage relationships located near the area that I could find out about. LOL  I did plant a seed of suggestion in some of their minds though.

One of the things I'm doing now is going through all of the vast amounts of material I picked up while out there. Lots of guides and educational information on the land and animals in the area. Since we were close to Yellowstone. I went and learned a lot about the ecosystem there. It was all amazing.

Okay. That's all for now everyone. I need to get back to writing. I'm finishing up my Gatlinburg, TN book now. I can't wait to see it up for sale!

First Glance of Montana

Well, trying to post some pictures here for you to see my initial time in Montana. I have the massive grizzly bear statue in the Bozeman airport and pictures from the lodge that houses the dining area, a varanda for visiting and the bar. My personal favorite.

I just got back from my initial horseback ride and will be going on a longer one this afternoon. I will have more photos from that.  Stay tuned!

Double poo! These won't load either. I'll play with them more tonight. sigh.....

Now On Pre-Order: Nessa's Two Shifters

I'm so excited to have my first Shifter book up for Pre-Order at Siren. It is scheduled for release on Friday, August 2nd. It is the first book in my new series, Wolf's Pass Shifters.

Convincing his twin to help him claim Nessa Clemmons as their mate is one battle Jessup Shoewater plans to win quickly. Joseph thinks he is too broken to take care of a mate, with or without his twin’s help. Held captive and tortured, Joe thought he’d lost the human side of himself.

Nessa wants to believe Jess and Joe truly care for her, but pledging herself to two men, let alone wolf shifters, seems a little like jumping out of the frying pan into the fire. Having survived years of abuse from her step-brother, Nessa hesitates to trade one familiar situation for another one she knows nothing about.

Can she overcome her fears of inadequacy and the unknown to help Joe learn to trust himself and his ability to control his wolf, or will she turn away from the two men who open up a world of love and acceptance she’s never felt before?

You can download it here:
http://www.bookstrand.com/node/863059

For an excerpt, read below.
He couldn’t stand it any longer. Joe bent down and removed her shoes as his twin unfastened her pants. They each took a leg and pulled the material down, letting it pool on the floor. Before he even knew what he was doing, Joseph buried his nose between her legs, inhaling her feminine scent through the crotch of her panties. Her sudden gasp and his brother’s chuckle didn’t faze him in the least. The feel of his teeth elongating drew a growl from him. Without saying a word, he ripped her underwear so that he could jerk it from her body and reach what he’d longed for.

“I’ll handle her top by myself, brother. I can tell you’re a little busy at the moment.” Jessup’s amused voice was lost on him.

All Joe could think about was finding the source of the delicious scent that had his balls aching and his cock twitching. The smell of her arousal had loosened the wolf to the point that he had to give it something or he’d lose complete control. Right now, her juicy pussy called to him in both forms.

The first taste of her when he drew his tongue along her wet slit had his toes curling in ecstasy. Licking her essence from his lips, Joe lost himself in her taste and smell. He attacked her with his mouth, cleaning her thighs where evidence of her arousal glistened on her skin and following it to the source where he made himself comfortable as he dined on her pleasure. Had he not felt her thighs tighten around his shoulders, Joseph might have missed her first orgasm. His brother must be kissing her because the only sound she made was a muffled moan.

“W–why is he growling?” Nessa’s voice shook, pulling Joe back to himself.

He realized his growls hadn’t been low keyed at all, but loud and wild sounding. No doubt she was scared that he would take a bite out of her down there by the sound of them. He cursed, and after taking one last swipe of her juices, Joe lifted his head and kissed the inside of each of her thighs.

“I’m sorry, baby. I didn’t mean to scare you. You taste so fucking amazing. I couldn’t control my wolf’s approval.” He struggled to keep his face as calm as possible as he stared into her eyes.

“It tickles when you growl like that.” Her tentative smile encouraged him that she might not be as scared of him as he’d worried.

“Let’s get you settled on Jess, Nessa. I need to prepare your ass for my cock.” He kissed her belly before backing away.

He watched her face as she finally caught the meaning of what he was talking about. Instead of the fear or loathing he expected to see, she smiled, almost looking eager before she rolled over and he lost sight of her face. She crawled over his brother’s body, straddling him until her pussy was lined up with his twin’s swollen dick. He watched his brother’s face as she slowly sank down, engulfing his thick cock. For the first time in years, Joseph relaxed the strict control he kept over the link between he and Jess, allowing him to feel some of what his brother was feeling in that moment.
